Children's Ministries
Sunday Morning Bible Study and Vacation Bible School
Each Sunday morning at 9:15 A.M. there are classes for all ages of children from nursery to high school. The Bible is taught by relating it to the events of today and life in the 21st century.
Each summer Temple Baptist sponsors a Vacation Bible School. This week is filled with music, mission lessons, Bilbe lessons, crafts and recreation.
Son Shine Inn
SSI was started as a ministry of Temple Baptist Church. The objectives of SSI are to promote each child's social, physical, emotional and academic development in a pleasant Christian setting, and to enhance and expand the parent's realtionship with the child and the school.
Son Shine Inn is licensed by the state of Colorado and meets standards set by the health and fire departments. Teachers and staff meet requirements set forth by the State Department of Social Services.
Our greatest opportunity is to introduce the love of Christ to so many children of Salida and the surrounding area. As a Christian Center, our cirriculum includes daily Bible stories, songs and prayers.
Salida Christian School
Salida Christian School meets in the facilities of Temple Baptist Church. As a ministry of the church we want our students to leave SCS with knowledge in their heads, but most of all Jesus in their hearts.
Beginning in 1990, SCS has added grades up to 8th, as the need for quality education became apparent. We are very proud of out students and staff.
Our students excel academically due to the outstanding Abeka curriculum employed as well as the committed and qualified staff. Scores from the Stanford 10 battery of tests revealed that our students scored well above the national average.
